Montgomery AIDS Outreach, Inc. (MAO) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 agency which is primarily funded through grants of:

• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
• State of Alabama
• Medicaid Targeted Case Management
• HUD
• Housing for People Living With AIDS (HOPWA)
• Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS
• Emergency Food and Shelter

The agency strictly complies with Alabama State Laws concerning confidentiality for individuals living with HIV and is vigilant in following Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. In 2003, MAO was awarded the Gabe Krutz Award for innovative HIV specific primary health care by the Health Resources Services Administration, Health and Human Services.
