Dear Friend of MAO,
Montgomery AIDS Outreach (MAO) is pleased to announce that
our annual Wiregrass AIDS Walk is scheduled for Saturday morning Sept 11, 2010.
This year's walk will be held at TSU Dothan Campus-Harrison Walk Trail.
We are asking for supporters of MAO to help by collecting
donations and walking with us to support our neighbors, family and friends who desperately
need our help. If you can organize a group that would be great! A group can
consist of a circle of friends, friends from your church, work, school or any
other organization.
Participants can print a ‘Walk Envelope' worksheet from our
website: www.maoi.org. Walkers can collect
money ahead of time using this worksheet join us the morning of September 11th
at Harrison Walk Trail for the walk and celebration. You can also pick up ‘Walk
Envelope' worksheets at the MAO office on 545 Main Street Dothan AL.
Registration begins that morning at 8:30am with the walk starting at 9:00am.
To date there is no cure for AIDS, but there are ways we can
make a very big difference. Prevention, education and testing are the key ways
to prevent the ongoing spread of HIV/AIDS. MAO provides prevention education to
over 40,000 individuals in 23 counties annually and primary medical care to
over 1,300 patients.
MAO needs your help to continue providing these valuable
services to those in need in 26 Alabama counties. You can go to the website or
call 334-673-0494 to get started.
Thank you in advance for your support. Please help us to
continue the fight against AIDS in Southeast and Central Alabama.
Please help our community! HIV infection rates are
increasing as are medication and treatment costs. Without the support of the
community, funding these services might not be possible. MAO needs you and this
community needs MAO.
